Monitored intruder alarm systems are connected to our Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). This means that on activation of the alarm, a signal is sent to the ARC via a telephone line and/or cellular network. Where a police response is required, the monitored intruder alarm system must be capable of giving confirmed alarm activations.
This means that when a detection device is triggered and the alarm activated, the first signal will be sent to the ARC, who will notify the nominated Keyholder. If a second detection device is then triggered (e.g. a burglar moving from one area into another) a further signal will be sent to the ARC. This is classed as confirmation and the police response would then occur.
